It Started with a Passion

I grew up riding and racing dirt bikes, with dreams of becoming a professional racer. However, after a few crashes, self-preservation kicked in, and I began to explore other avenues. My journey took an exciting turn after I left school and met MXGP racer Tommy Searle. At the age of 17, we moved to America, where Tommy raced in the Supercross and outdoors series.

A New Path

While in the U.S., I picked up a camera and made a video that landed me a job with KTM USA. For the next three years, I created content for YouTube and marketing campaigns, working alongside the sport’s top athletes. This experience was invaluable and helped me hone my skills in media production.

Returning to the UK

In 2011, I moved back to the UK and continued my dream job, working with Monster Energy & Red Bull. I traveled around the world with the MXGP series, shooting weekly videos under the name EDUB MEDIA. During this time, I built strong relationships with the riders I worked with, recognising the opportunity to create a product they would love.

The Birth of Kecks

The Kecks concept was born in 2018 at a motocross track in Spain. A friend was struggling with loose underwear and discomfort while riding. I realised the need for a product that could withstand the riggers of extreme sports and still provide maximum comfort.

Turning Vision into Reality

Creating Kecks was no easy feat. With a vision but no experience, I spent months learning Adobe Illustrator & Design, producing countless samples, and overcoming setbacks. I eventually flew to East Asia to meet suppliers and fine-tune the details. The result was a product that was both durable and comfortable.

Building the Brand

Choosing the brand name was crucial. Kecks, a slang word for underwear, was the perfect fit. We worked on the logo design and, after months of hard work, had a finished product ready for trademark. The next challenge was building the website. With no prior experience in web development, I turned to YouTube, spending countless hours creating an online store that reflected our brand and offered a user-friendly shopping experience.

Launch and Beyond

Kecks launched on June 30, 2019, and the support from athletes in the action sports industry was incredible. Social media endorsements poured in, and our first order came just 15 minutes after going live! Six months later, when people ask how Kecks is doing, it's hard to convey the whirlwind it has been. From selling out our signature styles to meeting heavyweight boxer Derek Chisora, the journey has been nothing short of amazing.

Growing the Brand

Since our initial launch, we have expanded our offerings with a girls' collection, bringing the same level of comfort and durability to women's underwear. Our goal has always been to create a product that can withstand the demands of any activity while maintaining style and comfort.

We are also growing Kecks into a lifestyle brand, reflecting the spirit and energy of action sports. Whether you're training, riding, or just enjoying your day, Kecks is designed to keep up with you.

Looking Ahead

Oour goal remains the same: to deliver the best service and a cool product. The journey from a motocross track in Spain to launching Kecks has been a wild ride, and I can't wait to see where it takes us next.

Keep It Kecks,

Ed

Hi Ed was great to read your back story. I’ve known Tommy and his family since he was about 6 and followed his career closely. I have a 8 year old grandson who loves Moto X and brought him his first pair of Kecks about 18 months ago and now have to buy them for every Christmas and birthday 😁 he won’t wear anything else. He also likes Tommys gear. Keep doing what your doing love two pro one slow as well. My grandson recognised you at Canada Heights and got your autograph too ⭐️

Hi, I read your new stuff on a regular basis. Your writing style is witty, keep up the
good work! I could not refrain from commenting.
Well written! I have been browsing on-line more than 3 hours these days,
but I never discovered any attention-grabbing article like yours.

It’s beautiful worth sufficient for me. Personally, if
all site owners and bloggers made excellent content as you did,
the internet can be much more useful than ever before.

At first I thought ‘Kecks’ were for men only and why did you not bring out a ladies version. But after buying some for my son for Christmas and of course a pair for me, I find these sooo comfortable! Oh and the web site, speedy delivery and after care is amazing. Well done Ed
